ALDIE, VA, UNITED STATES, August 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA), a no-kill animal shelter serving Northern Virginia, will host its signature fundraising dinner, Paws for a Celebration, on Friday, Sept. 18, from 7-9:30 p.m. at River Creek Club in Leesburg. The evening will bring together supporters for dinner, live music, and stories of rescue from FOHA's work, with a goal of raising $80,000 to support the animals in the shelter's care.

"This event is about celebrating everything our community makes possible for the animals who need us most," said Alison Mauroff, Executive Director of Friends of Homeless Animals. "Every dollar raised goes directly toward urgent medical care, training, and shelter for the dogs and cats waiting for their second chance."

Set along the Potomac River, the cocktail-attire event will include a chef-curated buffet, live and silent auctions, and a raffle. VIP guests will have early access to the event beginning at 6:30 p.m.

According to Best Friends Animal Society, Virginia is on track to become the largest no-kill state in the country. Proceeds from Paws for a Celebration help FOHA be part of that progress, supporting its ongoing mission to provide medical care, training, and safe shelter to homeless animals throughout the region until they find permanent homes.

Tickets and sponsorship packages are available now through FOHA's website. Those unable to attend can still support the shelter's work through a direct donation.
